• Qualcomm claims ‘significant’ progress on cellular vehicle-to-everything tech

    Chip giant Qualcomm has revealed that a number of cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) products from automotive and infrastructure suppliers, featuring its 9150 C-V2X Platform, have completed certification in accordance with the European Radio Equipment Directive (RED) Certification.

    The tech company began 2020 by announcing a new platform at the CES trade show, Qualcomm Snapdragon Ride, designed to accelerate autonomous driving and pave the way to in-vehicle autonomy with what it called a scalable, customisable and power-efficient autonomous driving platform.

  • Molotov.tv streams 24/7 with Dell EMC and Scality object storage

    Three years. That’s the time that it took the IT team at French TV provider Molotov to put in place the infrastructure needed to broadcast 170 channels in 30 formats to several hundred thousand users simultaneously.

  • Digitisation drives IT modernisation growth

    The Computer Weekly/TechTarget UK IT priorities 2020 survey has found that organisations are driving forward application modernisation initiatives and using software as a service (SaaS) for user computing.

    The survey reported that 40% of the 210 UK IT professionals asked said that they would be doing application modernisation during 2020. This represents a massive jump from the 15% of IT professionals planning application modernisation initiatives in the Computer Weekly/TechTarget UK IT priorities 2019 survey.
