• Enterprise WLAN market takes a tumble

    While the combined consumer and enterprise worldwide wireless local area network (WLAN) market segments rose 7.1% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2020, and consumer growth was particularly strong on 20% annually, business in the enterprise WLAN segment has continued to show the strains of the Covid-19 pandemic on the enterprise, according to research from IDC.

  • Guernsey to revamp digital local service delivery following double datacentre build-out

    The States of Guernsey parliament has confirmed the completion of a double datacentre build on the island that will underpin the delivery of digital services to its citizens for at least the next decade.

    Working with its long-standing IT provider, Agilisys Guernsey, the government commissioned the datacentres to replace its ageing IT infrastructure with two facilities that would form the foundation of its push to transform the delivery of public services to the island’s citizens.

  • Nimbus Data launches 64TB of QLC flash in one drive for £8,000

    Flash storage pioneer Nimbus Data has launched a 64TB 3.5” QLC flash drive that comes in at a price of around £8,000 per unit –around £125 per TB raw.

    The ExaDrive NL is being presented as a better value option of the company’s existing TLC flash ExaDrive DC, which can pack in 100TB but won’t leave much change out of £30,000 per drive. And all this in a flash drive market in which large capacity would usually be something in the 7TB to 15TB range.
